Master Name Index Module

The Master Name Index Module is a central name repository that all other CrimeStar modules reference. This module is designed to capture and display a variety of information about people who have had contact with your local law enforcement agency. This module stores information about a subject address history, alias names and other information which is either historical or random. The concept of the Master Name Index is that the root name information is the information best known to be accurate and other subsequent information is linked or associated as alias or supplemental information.

By maintaining a single "master" record, CrimeStar chains or links other information from the master record to create a series of involvements. This linked information permits CrimeStar to very easily be used as a link analysis tool. More importantly this architecture provides a "one-stop-shopping" environment where you can inquire to determine everything that a given individual has been associated or named in.

The Master Name Index file permits the storage of multiple digital photographs per Master Name Index Record.
