E-Mail  (Not Available in the Basic / 'Lite' Edition)

Crimestar provides a basic messaging / email subsystem for use within the Crimestar RMS program. The e-mail system can be accessed by selecting ‘E-Mail’ from the ADMIN section of the main menu. Crimestar RMS automatically checks for when you login.

If you set the "emailnotify" option of the crimestar.ini file to on ( EMAILNOTIFY=ON) the program will continue to check for new or unread email every two minutes. When the system detects that you have new or unread mail waiting it will display a green flashing "New E-Mail" window in the lower right corner of your screen.

All Crimestar email is addressed for delivery by Officer ID.  In order for email delivery to be completed your officer ID, MUST be associated with your user login in the system security module. This is true, even if you use the same value for both your system login and your officer ID. Use the Crimestar system security form to select the user login and then associate an Officer ID value to that login. The Officer ID values that can be associated are those that have been pre-defined in the Officer table of the System Configuration.
