Configuration

CrimeStar is known as a table-driven system. This means most of the configuration items are stored in database lookup tables. Examples include the officers name table, violation table, vehicle type table, and many others. These configuration tables must be populated before you can effectively use the system.

Your system will develop a personality based on the quality of the code tables. If you do not plan the implementation of your code tables properly, CrimeStar may not perform to your expectations. We urge you to spend some time planning the building of your tables.

For complete details on the Configuration section of Crimestar please read the Crimestar Manual that was distributed with the software. This manual is provided electronically in an Adobe Acrobat PDF format. If you dont already have it, you will need the Adobe Acrobat reader software available FREE from Adobe systems at www.adobe.com
