NIBRS Injury

 

The NIBRS Injury field is used to capture the type of injuries sustained by a victim when they were the victim of certain crime types. This field(s) is required only when the NIBRS Victim Type code is "I" (Individual) and the Individual was a victim of one or more of the following crimes:

100 = Kidnapping

11A = Forcible Rape

11B = Forcible Sodomy

11C = Sexual Assault With An Object

11D = Forcible Fondling

120 = Robbery

13A = Aggravated Assault

13B = Simple Assault

210 = Extortion/Blackmail

 

The NIBRS Injury codes used in CrimeStar are those referenced by the published FBI NIBRS specifications and are not modifiable by the user. Acceptable values for this field are as follows:

 

N = None

B = Apparent Broken Bones

I = Possible Internal Injury

L = Severe Laceration

M = Apparent Minor Injury

O = Other Major Injury

T = Los of Teeth

U = Unconsciousness
