Why are some Field Labels RED

Some CrimeStar field labels are RED. This indicates that the associated data field is REQUIRED and can not be skipped or otherwise omitted prior to entering, editing and saving a data record. Some data fields are required by CrimeStar itself while others can be configured by the system administrator to be required.
