Law Enforcement Software
The Warrant Module is designed to capture and display information common to most Arrest and Bench Warrants issued by your local court as a result of an affidavit for probable cause or a specific and direct violation of a court order. The Warrants Module tracks important information such as the name of the subject for whom the warrant has been issued, the name of the judge or magistrate issuing the warrant, the type of warrant, the bail amount and other warrant docket information. Additionally this module can be used for due-diligence and warrant service tracking.
Because warrant records are linked to the MNI file, CrimeStar will automatically check the warrant file each time a Master Name Index record is ‘Hit’. This means that any time you match to an MNI record as part of a quick-fill operation, or any time you search for and display a record that has been linked to an MNI, CrimeStar will use the MNI internal identifier to search the warrant file. Only warrants with a status code of ‘ACT’ (abbreviation for active) and an Expiration Date that has not already expired will be searched. If an ACTive warrant associated with the same MNI is found CrimeStar will display a flashing ‘ACTIVE WARRANT’ banner in the upper right portion of the screen.
Using the Mouse pointer to Click on the flashing ACTIVE WARRANT banner will display the warrant record that CrimeStar found during the search. It is not the intent of this feature to display all warrants associated with a person. This feature only exists to alert a user to the possibility of a warrant, and to remind them that they should check for active warrants.
* Remember that in most jurisdictions warrants must be confirmed by hand, generally you should not arrest a subject based strictly on an automated warrant record.
