How to get information about a data field

Information about most fields on a CrimeStar form can be obtained by moving the mouse pointer to the field and clicking the right mouse button. A small popup menu will appear on the screen next to the point where the mouse button was clicked. Select the ‘What’s This ?’ option on this menu and CrimeStar will query this help file to retrieve the appropriate field description information, if it has been defined.

Not all fields, buttons or labels have description information. If no description information exists then the right click menu may not appear or it may appear with the ‘What’s This ?’ option disabled.
