Date

The Date field is used to capture or display a valid date reference. Dates are typically entered or displayed as a 6-digit sequence formatted as follows: 07/04/97. Date values may also be represented with a fully qualified year, which includes the century reference. This format would be as follows: 07/04/1997. See: Century Rollover for info on the default century used.

Date fields permit the use of certain keyboard action to change the Date value.

The following is a list of these special key sequences and their respective results.

Keys   Result

Control D  Enters the current date.

Plus Key  Increments the date value by one day.

Minus Key  Decrements the date value by one day.

Up Arrow  Increments the date value by one day.

Down Arrow  Decrements the date value by one day.

* Double Clicking in most date fields will activate a pop-up calendar.
