Citation - Print a Ticket

The citation modules provides a mechanism to print a customizable "Traffic Ticket". This option may be turned on/off at each respective workstation by adding or editing the TICKET_PROMPT=ON/OFF option in the [CONFIGURATION] section of the crimestar INI file. When the "Ticket" button in the citation module is clicked (left mouse click), the system will, by default, print the "ticket.frx" report output file that is distributed with the RMS application. This is a sample ticket output file and MUST be either modified or replaced by a different output file before actual use! You can also change the file name that Crimestar references and prints by setting the TICKET_DEFAULT= option of the [CONFIGURATION] section of the Crimestar.ini file to the name of the .FRX or .LBX report file that represents the ticket format you wish to print. Lastly the printer that is used to print the "ticket" output is defined using the TICKET_PRINTER= setting in the [CONFIGURATION] section of the Crimestar.ini file. If no ticket printer is defined the currently selected default printer is used. You can easily set or change the ticket printer by right-mouse clicking on the "Ticket" button and choosing a default ticket printer from the list of printers installed on the computer.

The following INI file entries will print the "ticket" represented by the file "myticket.frx" using the printer named "ZDesigner RW 420".

TICKET_DEFAULT=myticket.frx (Defines the default ticket file to print)

TICKET_PRINTER=ZDesigner RW 420 (Defines the printer to use for printing tickets)

TICKET_PROMPT=ON (Determines if the Ticket print button appears on the citation module form)

TICKET_SELECT=OFF (Determines if the user should be prompted at runtime to select the ticket output file)

Users with system administrator rights can select "External Report File Designer" from the 'system' pad of the main program menu. If a new or different ticket output report file is created, you may force the citation module to automatically reference that file by creating or editing the TICKET_DEFAULT= option of the crimestar.ini file and specifying the name of the .FRX or .LBX file to use used. In circumstances where agencies wish to have more than a single ticket report output format, multiple .FRX or .LBX files can be created and the citation module can be modified to allow the user to select the appropriate ticket output report file at runtime. This multiple report output file option is activated by adding or editing the TICKET_SELECT=ON/OFF option in the crimestar.ini file.

* Note that the ini file settings above must be set at each respective RMS workstation and any new or modified output report files (.FRX & .FPT or .LBX & .LBT) must be distributed to each respective workstation where you wish them to be available for use.

These samples of the ticket output format are distributed with the RMS application. This default sample output file was formatted for a 4" output format using a Zebra (www.zebra.com) RW420 mobile printer. Also below is a list of citation data field "keywords" that can be used to output specific citation data to the printed ticket report output file via the External Report Designer. While the report designer can be tedious to use and may require some minimal programming or data formatting skills, it allows you to completely customize the output report any way you want!
