Calls For Service Data Transfer

 

In many circumstances information that has been captured as part of the Calls-For-Service (CFS) module can be used in other Modules when completing a reports or documents related to the CFS record. CrimeStar can automatically transfer certain data from the CFS module to the other module to accelerate the process of completing the module report document.

 

Please remember that the UNIT # and the Officer ID fields are not the same. Thus when transferring data from the CFS module, the Officer ID field will NOT be populated with data from the UNIT # field in the CFS record.

 

This is a configurable option that you must activate in the system configuration. To activate this feature you must have system ADMIN capability in the security module. Enter the system configuration form by selecting System then Configure from the main menu. When the CrimeStar Configuration form is active select the Incidents page. At the bottom of this page is a configuration switch labeled "Pre-Fill from Calls For Service record". To turn on the Data transfer capability, make sure this box is checked. Now exit from the configuration form.

 

With this option turned on CrimeStar will transfer data from the specified CFS record to the current Incident report form when in the Incident report form you specify either and Incident # or and Event # that exists in the CFS database table.
