AFIS Booking Interface    (Not Available in the Basic / 'Lite' Edition)

 

An interface has been created to export certain data from the Booking Module into an XML type file format that can be either FTP’d or Copied to another location (or both) and consumed or read by an external Live Scan / Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).

 

The interface is controlled via a series of RMS configuration settings that determine the type of interface data format and the FTP or Directory location where the AFIS interface output file is to be sent. The TYPE CODE setting determines the output file data format created.  The other settings on the Booking AFIS Interface page of the RMS system configuration (ORI, FTP Address, FTP Port, FTP User, FTP Password, FTP SSL Mode)  settings determine the FTP location and login to be used when sending the file to another location/machine via FTP.   The AFIS Copy Path setting defines a simple path specification for the File(s) to be copied to.  

 

When an AFIS FTP Address is specified the interface will attempt to FTP the file accordingly.  

When an AFIS Copy Path is specified the interface will attempt to copy the file accordingly.

 

System administrators configuring these settings need to ensure that the appropriate FTP user names, passwords and/or directory paths exist so that the created data file can be delivered.  Also remember that most AFIS file transfers require the Agency ORI # to be inclusive in the data.  Normally the ORI # is a 9 digit value where the first 2 characters represent the state code and the remaining 7 digits represent a unique number assigned to the agency.  This value is typically configured as part of the UCR/IBR reporting, however, because some AFIS systems require ORI values of a slightly different format, a configuration field for the AFIS ORI is provided.

Use this setting in the [CONFIGURATION] section of the Crimestar.ini file to identify the specific physical Booking Workstation to the LiveScan system when needed.

 

 

** Any Crimestar customer (or vendor working in conjunction with a Crimestar Customer) may use any of the above output files as needed to complete an AFIS interface of Crimestar Booking data to an external AFIS system without paying any additional charges or fees.   If absolutely necessary, other specialized output formats may be programmed/created by Crimestar Corporation on a time & materials contract programming basis.  To obtain a price quote for the creation of a different output format, contact Crimestar Corporation technical support and be prepared to send a sample and/or specification document for the output format needed.
