Beyond authorizing users to have access to certain portions of the Crimestar program via System Security, program modules can be activated (turned on) or deactivated (turned off) so they do not appear on the program menus or toolbars. This is another way that the program can be configured to tailor it to your agency’s needs.
To turn a program module on or off access the system configuration form (Select "System" from the main menu then select "Configure" from the System menu). On the system configuration form select the "Menu Items" page. On this page there are 3 sub-pages with a series of checkboxes on them. Each checkbox corresponds to a specific Crimestar module or file. To turn a module or file "ON" check the box for that specific module. To turn a module "OFF" uncheck the box for that specific module or file.
Once the module menu items activation is complete. Exit from the Crimestar program and log again. Upon logging in the program should present you with the modules and files that you have chosen to configure as ON for your agency.
