Rollover Date

When using either the Gregorian or Julian numbering scheme sequential event numbers are appended to the Gregorian or Julian date. Example of the First event on July 4th 1999 where Y=Year, M=Month, D=Day J=Julian Date, S=Sequence # :

Gregorian: 9907040001 (Format: YYMMDDSSSS)

Julian: 991850001 (Format: YYJJJSSSS)

While it is not required, usually when either of these numbering formats are used the Sequence counter is reset to 1 at midnight. The Rollover Date is used by CrimeStar to keep track of whether the midnight rollover has already occurred or whether it needs to be performed. When a new Event # is to be created CrimeStar compares the current date with the rollover date. If the two dates are the same no midnight rollover is performed.

This field is not used with the simple sequence numbering option.
