CrimeStar has been designed to generate an error log whenever it is able to internally identify and trap an error in the programming instructions or the installation environment. When CrimeStar detects an internal error it checks for the existence of the ‘cs_error.log’ file. If this file is found, error information is added to the file. If the file is not found, it is automatically created and the error condition logged to file. The information in this file is not likely to be of any help to the end user, however information in this file may be very helpful to Crimestar Corporation during later attempts to identify and resolve programming issues.
Please send this file as an attachment to your e-mail when contacting Technical Support.
Once you have e-mailed the cs_error.log file to Crimestar Corporation, please delete this file from your computer. As mentioned above CrimeStar will re-create this file if necessary. Deleting this file prevents it from growing too large and helps to ensure that it contains only the most current information.
