In-Service an Outside Unit    ( Radio Unit ID )

Before any action can be taken on a specific unit that unit must be placed in service.  Placing a unit in service makes them available for assignment and places the unit on the unit status monitor.  When you In-Service a unit using the In-Service command the Unit ID you specify is validated against the system code table for CAD/CFS Unit ID's.  When you need to In-Service a Unit that is outside of your normal scope of operation you must use the "OIS" command on the command line.

Type the following period-delimited command syntax: OIS.UNITID.TYPE

UNITID = Radio Unit ID or other relevant ID of the field resource * REQUIRED aWith the OIS command this value IS NOT  validated against the system code table for CAD/CFS Unit ID's

TYPE =  Code value that corresponds to the type of field resource P=Police, F=Fire, M=Medical, O=Other
