Reporting Party

The Reporting Party (RP) field is used to capture/display information about the person calling to report activity. This field can often contain an actual person name. In busy communication centers or when a caller is panicked, it may not be possible or practical to obtain the proper name and DOB of a caller. Often they identify themselves as the ‘Store Manager’, ‘Night Clerk’ or ‘Anonymous’. Likewise even when they do provide a name it is often not possible to verify that the name is accurate. For this reason CrimeStar represents this data with a single 40 character alphanumeric field that is not linked the Master Name Index.
