The Officer field is a 6 character forced choice field, used to capture or display the associated Officer Identification. This should be a permanent ID number or employee number that will never be used by another person. It should not be a number that periodically changes, such as a Badge #’s do in some agencies. When an Officer leaves the department the Officer ID should NOT be deleted, but rather set to INACTIVE.
Note: the Officer ID is different from the Unit ID used in the Calls For Service module.
The values, which appear in this forced choice field, are derived from a user defined code table. Category type=Officer ID.
