NIBRS - Bias Codes

The NIBRS Bias Motivation codes used in CrimeStar are those referenced by the published FBI NIBRS specifications and are not modifiable by the user. The following caution is quoted directly from the FBI NIBRS specification manual and should be considered when reporting bias.

"Because of the difficulty in ascertaining the offenders subjective motivation, bias is to be reported only if investigation reveals sufficient objective facts to lead a reasonable and prudent person to conclude that the offenders actions were motivated, in whole or in part, by bias against race, religion, disability, ethnicity, or sexual-orientation."
