CrimeStar RMS provides a generic accident detail page (report) which is acceptable for many agencies. Some states however, require that traffic accident reports be submitted on a specific state form. These forms can often be replicated within CrimeStar via some custom programming and modifications. Because each state uses a different form we have created a series of user customizable attributes within the accident module. These attributes are related to the main accident page, related persons and related vehicles. The labels for these custom attributes can be set on the Accident page of the Configuration Module. Likewise the codes associated with each attribute can be set within the Other Codes section of the configuration module. In order for custom designed printouts to display the proper data, various elements of the form must be related to these custom attributes.
In order for CrimeStar RMS to know which custom state accident report to print, and INI setting of ACC_RPT_STATE is used within the Crimestar INI file.
The following section describes the proper INI setting for a given state and which custom attribute to use for specific sections and fields on a particular state form. Note, if your respective state is not shown below, CrimeStar is not yet programmed to produce your state’s Accident report form.
