CAD Map – Display Only Program

Crimestar CAD provides a stand-alone dynamically updated CAD Map - Display Only program (“maponly.exe”) that can be used to display the CAD map on computers other than machines being used as CAD workstations.  This application is perfect for oversized map displays (large screen plasma monitors/TV’s) of field units and activity in your communications center or common use areas.  There are no seat license requirements or restrictions on using the CAD Map display program, so it can be deployed on as many computers as desired (Map file licensing may be required).  The stand-alone CAD Map program reads certain entries in the Crimestar.INI file in order to locate the Crimestar RMS/CAD database on the network and configure itself to receive the TCP/IP UDP broadcast messages.  Therefore you should always deploy the CAD Map – Display Only program using the CAD application installer and setup executable to ensure that the required configuration and support files are installed.   It is also required that like the CAD workstation software, the CAD Map –Display Only program must be run on a computer that is within the same network segment or class “C” address range as defined in the installation notes section of this document.
